Nobody Learns Nothing in Washington

At least four senior officials in President Trump’s White House have active accounts on a private Republican National Committee (RNC) email system, according to a new report.

Counselor Kellyanne Conway, White House press secretary Sean Spicer, chief strategist and senior counselor Stephen Bannon and senior adviser Jared Kushner — Trump's son-in-law — all have rnchq.org email accounts, Newsweek reported Wednesday.
"Do as I say, not as I do" is alive and well in the Trumperverse.

Also, the U.S. is now regarded as a "flawed democracy". We'll be down to "hybrid" if not "authoritarian" in a few years.

Why not? As long as they don't conduct *Government* business on them, it ain't illegal.

They can, of course, show that since Hillary wasn't prosecuted for using a private email for government business it must not be illegal anyway. Right?

First off, if you really think that they're not going to conduct government business on the RNC's servers, well, I have a bridge to sell you.

But it's the hypocrisy of spending months blasting Clinton for using a private email server and then what's the first thing they start doing?

B said...

Thing is, she did federal business on her server to get around FOIA stuff.

You know it and I know it. THen she lied about it.

Had she been jailed for breaking tat part of the law, much less the Official Secrets Act, then you'd have a leg to stand on.

But you don't.

I'm not sure that they will do business on that email. Fairly sure that they will keep the business side of things separate. Who knows, they may abandon them....I mean, it's only been 5 days....

Methinks your protest smells like hypocrisy.

B, the contortions you're going through to explain this administration's hypocrisy/incompetence are pretty amusing. Even better, it's only three business days in.

I can't quite tell whether you're starting to realize that something's rotten or if you've just drunk so deep of the Kool-aid but either way I appreciate the entertainment. Thanks!

I have 2 emails. One I use for business, one for personal. I (mostly) don't mix em. Why should these officials not be able to do that?

And you still haven't explained giving Hillary a pass for doing even worse....She did break the law....not Might, Did. Yet you were willing to overlook that because "D"

What Hypocrisy/Incompetence? He hasn't done anything for you to judge that yet. You are judging based on supposition. It is part of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

One wonders the convolutions you folks must make in your logic whereby you excuse bad behavior on one side, and expect (without any reason to believe that the bad behavior will manifest) in the other side. Just because they are not Hillary is no reason to impute bad behavior to Trumps folks. Unless, of course, you are judging Trump based on either your candidates behavior, or your own. (I find that most people plan for the other guys behavior by basing it on what THEY would do.....which in this case says lots about the judge....)

'Mout....see you Friday.

OK, how about this: as of last night Trump was still tweeting from an illegal, unsecured Android phone. That's the law. He broke it.
Feel better yet?

Yo, B...remember the 22 million emails the Bush Deux Administration lost that way?

Comrade Misfit said...

CP88, once the guys with guns and badges got involved, those emails were reportedly found.

It was a technological miracle!

The hypocrisy of the right would be funny if weren't for the seriousness of the stage they're playing on. Private email servers and unsecured cell phones, those were terrible, horrible offenses for the last eight years. But as of January 20th, meh, its okay. Obstructing, stalling, and dragging feet on government appointments and legislation: that was standard operating procedure for the last eight years, now; its traitorous. B should get a job for the Trumps judging by the way he's applying 'alternative facts'.
