The FAA has placed a no-fly zone over Ferguson, Missouri, the site of protests and riots following the police shooting of Michael Brown, a young black man.

There is (just) a possibility that the police are afraid that the rioters 'act out' for the cameras and hope that the lack of news bods will calm things down a bit.
