... there are the usual inanities to fret about.
First, the species known as "Assholus Parkerii". This particular specimen took up four spaces for his duallie:
I wonder when he'll realize that not having fenders over the outboard wheels will mean that he's going to spray the side of his shiny truck with mud and shit every time he goes for a drive when the road isn't bone-dry. My guess is that it's an after-market mod. And of course, no mud flaps, because if he doesn't care about spewing mud all over his truck, he's not going to give a shit about spraying it all over yours.
Second up, a new movie: Riddick, a sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick, a movie that did so well that it took them nine years to try again (and was itself a sequel to Pitch Black, which might have been marginally profitable.) One reason for the nine-year gap was that Chronicles barely avoided being a flop, just making back its production budget.
I gather that Riddick is popular with SciFi gamers, but I kind of doubt that there are enough of them to obsessively see this movie enough times for it to make any real money. Vin Diesel, as an actor, seems to pretty much play one character in every movie I've seen. Nothing wrong with that, if you can pull it off, John Wayne did, but Diesel ain't the Duke.
(As for Syria, well, I suspect that cake is baked.)

Pitch Black had some charms... it didn't easily disclose its main character, like all other movies apparently must. The setting and monsters kept me wondering about the ecology and biosphere of the planet. (Was it stable, or just showing the remains of an overly-successful predator adaptation?) And it wasn't sentimental about its characters.
Oh, and the monsters acted like animals, instead of the monsters that other horror/SF movies insist on portraying.
I saw Chronicles, which was about as awful as a movie can get without being a rip-yer-eyes-out movies (like Burn After Reading).
I have a duece-and-a-half (8 feet wide, 20 feet long) that I can park in two spots. This idiot needs to be blocked in by some beater trucks that can be left there for a day or two.
I just love jack asses like that.
Even with no power steering I could park my 67 3/4 ton Ford with 35's and a highboy lift with some difficulty into a regular parking spot.
This jerk is just fucking lazy.
On another note, there will never be another John Wayne so they can quit trying.
Jerk in the truck doesn't want someone parking next to him. They might scratch his paint, y'know.
This is the kind of guy where I would enjoy removing all his valve cores from his tires. Not that I would actually do it, but I'd at least smile at the thought for a few moments before moving along!
+1 on removing the valve cores!
It's a subtle thing...
