The cops there invented a fake criminal gang, lied in official reports about it, committed perjury, and sought to charge people with being members of that gang in order to send them to prison for lengthy periods.
The scheme fell apart.
But none of the cops or prosecutors involved in that travesty will be held accountable. Because the state loves to protect the guys wearing the jackboots.

As bad as this is, it's nothing compared to the horrific reign of Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Definitely tl/dr, but you can dip in anywhere:
