Really beautiful design. Saw one in Duluth MN a month ago - that whistle is very distinctive.
I wonder how they manage to keep such old jet engines running. Impressive.
The Goblin is a remarkably simple jet engine. While requiring constant attention, its lack of complicated parts makes it somewhat “easy” to keep in the air. It mus pt be said, de Havilland sure built more than its share of objectively beautiful aircraft.
Pretty bird, and yes, VERY distinctive sound!
