Oklahoma’s top education official ordered public schools Thursday to incorporate the Bible into lessons for grades 5 through 12, the latest effort by conservatives to incorporate religion into classrooms.
The directive drew immediate condemnation from civil rights groups and supporters of the separation of church and state, with some calling it an abuse of power and a violation of the U.S. Constitution.
The order sent to districts across the state by Republican State Superintendent Ryan Walters says adherence to the mandate is compulsory and “immediate and strict compliance is expected."
Whose Bible, exactly? Which sect's version of it?
This is state-mandated religious indoctrination by the Christian Taliban, plain and simple. Anyone who says otherwise is lying. And I suppose that Walters is going to send in goons in jackboots and leather trenchcoats to ensure that his orders are being carried out.
Religious indoctrination of children, using state-sanctioned texts. How does this, in spirit, differ from Saudi-funded madrassas?
This is what you get since the Christian Nationalist bigots and the MAGAites have taken over the GOP. If you are OK with kids undergoing forced religious indoctrination, then I am sure of one thing: You are no American that the Founding Fathers would have recognized.

We know where it started.
I believe it may be bloody.
Should be interesting to see where it goes.
