Your Sunday Morning Jet Noise

A Boeing 707-300 departing Ostend in 2000. She first flew with Pan Am in 1967. Ten years later, she was sold to Trans Mediterranian Airways, where she flew until 2003, when she was parked at Beruit Airport, presumably in their version of Corrosion Corner.

Can't tell if it is a 320B or 320C, but to still be flying with the original design engines 30+ years later is impressive! And the 707 is STILL one of the fastest passenger jets, with a 600kt cruise! Sadly, that was slowed down to 525kt with the 320 models.

B-707 was an interesting ride trans-Atlantic. Flew it from Preswick to Dulles in the late 70’s, felt so cramped compared to the B-747 I had flown previously from London to New York. Of course, since I flew to Preswick from Edinburgh on a Britannia, it still felt plenty smooth.

Would love to hear the CVR as they did the checklist. Probably sounded like the disclaimer in the financial ads you hear on the radio.
