Trump Essentially is Colluding With Russia (Again)

A Department of Homeland Security official said in a whistleblower complaint that he was pressured by more senior officials to suppress facts in intelligence reports that President Donald Trump might find objectionable, including information about Russian interference in the election and the rising threat posed by white supremacists.

The official, Brian Murphy, alleged that senior DHS officials also pressed him to alter reports so they would reflect administration policy goals and that he was demoted for refusing to go along with the changes and for filing confidential internal complaints about the conduct.
...
Murphy said in his complaint that he was directed by Ken Cuccinelli, the acting deputy DHS secretary, to modify a section of a report to make the threat posed by white supremacists less severe. He was told to play up the threat posed by left-wing groups to echo administration talking points around civil unrest following the protests over the killing of George Floyd.
Trump doesn't want people knowing about continuing Russian interference because the Russians are supporting him. Trump also doesn't want any discussion of the threat posed by white supremacists because they are his people.

Read the story and you'll find out that Trump and his minions have been lying about the treat posed by immigrants, including lying to Congress and the American people about terrorists infiltrating those seeking to immigrate. You'll find out that Trump's political appointees tried to make the intelligence reports match up to Trump's fantasies.

A previous president called lying about the intelligence "catapulting the propaganda". That president sought to gin up support for a war of aggression. This president is doing that to make war on American democracy.

The Party of Trump, aka the Party of Treason, will be silent on this. The Senators and Congressmen will run away from questions about it.

Republicans are enabling treason. There is no other way to put it.

Meanwhile, Trump's boss is accusing the West of making him look bad because his thugs poisoned Alexei Navalny.
