dinthebeast said...: We used to fish for steelhead on the Klamath river. My dad had a river boat with an outboard jet unit on it, and we'd go upriver from Requa to Blue Creek and fish along the way at various promising looking riffles.
There's a tour boat, the Klamath Queen, that goes upriver each weekend, as I recall powered by a pair of Olds V-8s, carrying around forty tourists, and when it would come roaring by, the wake could pull your boat off anchor and swamp your waders.
They got hip and began being more careful, and we began tying the boat to a big river rock on the shore, but the wake could still knock you on your butt if you weren't careful.
I'm going to steal klannish armada, but I will attribute it properly.

I came across credible reports this morning - I read so much it's hard to keep track sometimes where I see things - of a river incident over the weekend of big wake boats swamping and sinking boats moored at homeowners' waterfronts. Apparently there was one - a butt parade -in my backyard, on Lake Billy Chinook, through sadly no boats sank. I also read somewhere that Antifa sabatoged those boats, so...
