When she was a kitten:
Maxine had pancreatitis. It's gotten worse and she's become basically non-responsive.
She went over the Rainbow Bridge today.
Max was my friend's daughter's cat. She was a wreck, so we made the last trip.
The ones your girlfriends warned you about.

My condolences.
A beautiful girl who was given a wonderful life by a devoted owner. An owner who then got the best help they could get from a friend to help ease Maxine’s pain. Safe trip, Maxine, and thank you Comrade.
It is the worst part of pet ownership, but it's because we love them so much.
I am truly sorry for your loss.

Sorry. I've got a slowly dying old stray cat on my porch. He's down to about four pounds but still eats, purrs, sleeps on the porch cat condo. Nothing of him works well anymore but he sure can cling to that 9th life. I'll know it's time for a trip to spca with him when he can't stand up any longer.
