Do the Other Republicans Want to Kill Ted Stevens?

Sen. Stevens has asked for a trial date of September 24th for his trial on tax fraud charges related to a long-standing corruption probe.

So, six weeks before the election, the news is going to be filled with stories coming out of the criminal trial of a senior GOP senator. There probably isn't a Republican up for election this cycle who isn't privately hoping that Stevens suffers a stroke before them (other than Stevens, that is).
