President Joe Biden on Friday defended what he said was a “difficult decision” to provide cluster munitions to Ukraine, a move the administration said was key to the fight and buttressed by Ukraine’s promise to use the controversial bombs carefully.
I don't see it as a difficult decision. The Russians have been using cluster munitions in Ukraine since the start of the war. One of the Golden Rules of Warfare is "I'll Do Unto You Like You Did Unto Me." If the Ukranians can make good use out of cluster weapons, fine, send them on over.

You can't fight with one hand tied behind your back. This was the correct decision.
I was told as an enlisted member of the USAF that I couldn't carry a sidearm when in 'Nam.
M16, grenades, knives, hell - brass knuckles would've been ok. But a sidearm was for officers.
I said come and take it.
Let me try and get this straight here. So we can kill them with let's say a JDAM and there is no problem. But if we kill them with a cluster bomb, then we are bad for giving it to them. War is war as I understand it, and being Dead is being Dead. But how we kill them makes a difference. Uh-huh.
I did think it interesting that Ukraine promised to keep track of where they used them and then go back in and collect any leftovers.
I can't help but weep for the hundreds of acres of prime farmland currently pockmarked from explosions and forever contaminated with explosive residues. I just don't think cluster bombs will be that much more of a problem. But I am one of those that think we should have given Ukraine the entire arsenal a year ago, F16s and all. Eff a bunch of Russian barbarians.

I don't know. If it was me, I would use these cluster bombs. I would do it to defend my people. Nobody ever cared about us anyway. Just keep growing the wheat and sunflower oil, keep your colorful folklore, and everything will be fine.
