Delta: It's Not Only Your Luggage That Won't Arrive
They lost power to their computer system in Atlanta and everything shit the bed. A day afterwards and Delta's schedule is not back to normal.
I'm guessing that there is at least one airline that is going to be shopping for some big honking backup generators.
(Sorry about the bad link.)

How about some big competent IT managers?
Probably a good bet that somebody's going to lose their job over this one.
Delta was sincerely hated, despised and loathed long before it screwed every single passenger it had yesterday. For one example, see a 2010 post on my own cranky blog, here: http://thenewyorkcrank.blogspot.com/search?q=Delta
Yours crankily,
The New York Crank
good take on this from Cringely

The Delta bean counters will tote up all the costs of this outage and if it doesn't reach a critical number Delta will do nothing beyond a ceremonial firing, if anybody is still watching.
Thank God for Southwest.
As someone who lives in Florida, any air travel I plan involves avoiding Delta and the Atlanta 9th Hub of Hell at all hazards.
Here's the real story of what went wrong:

And somebody should lose their job(s) over this.
