One of Bush's favorite lines is this quote from earlier this year:
"Last year, [Bush] said, he read three biographies of George Washington. 'If they're still writing about 1,' he said, '43 doesn't have to worry about it.'"
Talk about an overinflated sense of self-importance. If George Washington is not the greatest president in American history, he is in the top two.
Instead of comparing himself to George Washington, Der Monkey Fuhrer should, instead, look to how many books have been written recently about other presidents whose job performance were similar to his, such as Nos. 8 through 15 (Van Buren, Harrison, Tyler, Polk, Taylor, Fillmore, Pierce, Buchanan), No. 18 (Grant), No. 23 (Harrrison, the only one to beat a sitting president and then lose to the same guy when he ran for re-election), No. 29 (Harding), No. 31 (Hoover), and No. 37 (Nixon).
The worst presidents probably were Buchanan, Pierce, Grant, Harding and Nixon. Other than Nixon (who is still within living memory) and Grant (who gains more interest due to his generalship during the Civil War), I'll bet there have been very few books published about these presidents and none that fit the "mass market" category.
But Chimpy thinks he is of the same rank as George Washington. He either knows nothing of history or he is one serious megalomaniac, for he is beset by delusions of grandeur, let alone delusions of adequacy.
