Orange Felon Can't Tell Me What to Do

Caturday

Good old Chip.

It's summertime. For reasons to do with the age of the house and the structure, the air conditioning doesn't reach my bedroom very well. So it can be a bit warm. But when I go in there in the evening and recline on my bed to read, Chip wants to lie on my lap and he wants to have my lap covered with that blanket. And if it's not, he gets shirty about it. He'll whine and bap at the book I'm reading.

Well, he's getting old and set in his ways. I can respect that.

Yes, the Divine Right to Laps. We attend to and worship our Last Cat (because you can't take on a cat, if you can't be there for them always...and we are pushing towards our 80s and Increasing Decrepitude) who will soon be 21 and increasingly sees Laps as the Refuge That Makes Everything Right. His sister, a pair adopted from a Lakota Sioux reservation, left us a few years ago, but Bacchus soldiers on.

When the time comes, you might consider adopting a senior cat. Shelters have a hard time placing them.
