President Donald Trump shopped for a new Tesla on the White House driveway on Tuesday, selecting a shiny red sedan to show his support for Elon Musk ‘s electric vehicle company as it faces blowback because of his work to advance the president’s political agenda and downsize the federal government.
Yes, that will go over well with potential buyers. Not a whole lot of Trump supporters are inclined to buy electric vehicles. Motorists who are more inclined to buy electric vehicles likely despise Trump, and there will be even less of an incentive to buy one of Musk's shitty machines.
Look for the protests outside of the showrooms for Fascist Motors to only grow.

Electric would be useful to me due to driving patterns and reduced maintenance costs…but it’s an absolute hard no due to the infrastructure issues. With only about 22% of U.S. residents with reliable access to at home charging, electric cars will never succeed without a concerted effort to install infrastructure. Since electric “gas stations” don’t work as a reliable day-to-day charging source due to access and time issues, I suspect we’re still a long way away.
CP, you listed the finer details at issue with EVs why they don't work
for many. As to maintenance costs they are good until they aren't.
Two areas are accidents that have significant damage and battery
wearout or failures. Things like tires are a close second.

there are perfectly good Ford and Hyundai and Kia Hybrids we can purchase that are cheaper and fuel-efficient.
Ford Maverick, cute thing and cheap to run. I know of two and they are very happy after their first year with it. Me not enough headroom. The price is attractive.

CP, infrastructure, a critical thing for electric an it goes further than just
charging stations. Biden was trying to do that, as a result felon-47 will
rip it out and not support it.
Hybrid makes more sense.
