Right. Russian soldiers are throwing down their guns and fleeing, but that's somehow that's bad for the Ukrainians? Maybe he thinks that they are committing suicide as they overrun Russian positions.

There is a subset of "foreign policy experts" who cannot countenance the fall of a permanent boogeyman figure like Russia to keep them on the book tours across Europe and North America. Better to keep that second-tier terror state propped up in order to stay on the gravy train for life. It's not like China would be a better replacement, since that nation's internal conflicts - massive corruption, population decline (!), famine caused by climate change, etc. - are 10-20 years away from driving itself to collapse.
Amazing how far the lies have gotten. My wife has a friend here in bum fuk rural Ca. that believes the Ukrainians are the aggressor here. Attacking "poor peaceful Russia". The logic of that totally escapes me, but then her friend has been known to follow conspiracy stories so I guess it's not so surprising. Education and critical thinking are so missing in this country.
