Five Dallas police officers were told to stay home temporarily after arresting a man whom jail officers later reported had a “possible case of COVID-19” on Sunday.If you want to lose sleep, start thinking of what may happen if enough cops are either out sick or on quarantine that routine police work is suspended.

All five officers who came in contact with the person they arrested “were notified of the potential exposure and given a day off for precautionary reasons,” according to a Dallas police statement. The officers are expected to return to work at their next tour of duty, police said.
“Per our contagious disease policy, all five officers that came in contact with the arrested person were notified of the potential exposure and advised not to return to work until further notice,” the police statement said.
Then add in the paramedics and the firefighters.
"This is the 9-1-1 Dispatcher. We're not taking appointments for police response. The next opening is on the following Wednesday at 2PM. Does that work for you?"

Can someone explain what a 1-day suspension will actually do? I believe it takes a week or more for the virus to take hold and the tests aren't even reliable until some time after infection.
Why send them farther than the showers?
