If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

There's actually a lively debate ongoing re: whether zed taste and/or smell (the two senses being closely related). Evidence in favor lies in the zed ability to differentiate and pursue fresh prey and totally disregard pre- or over-decomposed flesh. It would have little need for any capabilities beyond this rudimentary selection though. The current theory is not that zed eat for delectable flavor of flesh, but for an inability to reach satiety, or fullness; when allowed, zed will literally eat past the point of bursting. Putrefaction is after all detected nasally by identification of gaseous amines like putrescine and cadaverine, not via taste.
Zombification does not impart any superhuman physical or sensory abilities, it just shorts any route to the frontal lobes and causes zed to operate from the mid-brain, the reptilian part. Taste/smell being the most primitive of sense would suggest that this capability is maintained, again as evidenced by the diet preference.
Those assumptions made, the theory that zombies hunt using bloodhound like odor detection has some holes; it takes a number of days w/o bathing before the average human can detect another from more than a few paces, so one can't assume an average zed could improve on that (average zed being former average humans). The only advantage would be a zed's lack of psychological gating to stimuli; it would get the first sharp whiff of BO and keep on smelling it. But humans, too, would at least get that first whiff.
