"The U.S.-Mexico border fence will make life harder on some South Texas farmers, damage valuable wildlife habitat, impair views and generally become an obstacle to border life, the Department of Homeland Security acknowledged in an environmental study of the fence's impact."
No fucking shit, geniuses. How much of our money did it take for you rocket scientists at DHS to figure out that putting up a solid fence through farmland and wildlife refuges would do all that?
There is a damn good reason why that Federal department has become known as the "Department of Homeland Stupidity." That report illustrates one small example of why that is so.

When are they going to install concertina wire and pill boxes on our entire coastline and the shores of the Great Lakes? What about the rest of the U.S. - Canada border? No fence? Surely they're aware that thousands of Canada's citizens sneak WMD's south into the U.S. every year and it's well known that huge numbers of South America's communist terrorists swim into the U.S. on the unprotected beaches of the states along the Gulf of Mexico. Maybe the concertina wire won't be enough - have they even considered mines? Why a terrorist can run a boat right up on thousands of miles of our beaches without any interference at all! I'm for extending that fence right around the entire country. A good, watertight, thirty foot high fence along our entire coast will even save all our dry land when all the ice melts (if global warming turns out to be real - which we know is just liberal BS). I think they've let a bunch of slackers into Homeland Security! Let's not stop with these half-measures of keeping us safe and free! Do the job right! Complete the protection! Fence the entire coastline and back that up with double lines of concertina wire AND a real deep mine field! Write your senator and representative! Demand that America be PROPERLY protected!
