FBI Director Kash Patel will be tapped to run the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF), two sources confirmed to Fox News Digital on Saturday.
The news comes a day after Patel was sworn in as the ninth FBI director in a narrow Senate vote.
I'm not crazy about one person being both director of the Feebies and of the Gun Cops. That seems to be a lot of power in one person's graspy mitts.
But the Senate will confirm it, since Republicans in the Senate have become rubber stamps for whatever Trump wants.

The ATF should not exist.
Why?
They need to be checked and maybe some adjustments.
Eck!
“Shall not be infringed” is a definite statement written by both liberals and conservatives with the same grave interpretation in mind.
It was a bold and radical concept then. It still is. Pretty cool. Gives everyone protection
Forgot the "Well regulated militia"' part. Or maybe just think that the guy who shoots at his backyard target range by the playground in the suburbs while talking gibberish to himself shouldn't have any regulations applied to him because that would infringe on his rights.
Even after threatening you or your family for complaining about the dangerous activity.
Correct, Dan. No training, no drilling, no mustering or inspecting. Justgo to the pew-pew shop and buy whatever you want, even if you have no idea how to use it safely.

"“The Second Amendment isn’t about hunting.”
"Well, I guess we conclusively verified that it’s pointless and we can get rid of it. Because it sure as shit doesn’t seem to be an effective “defense against tyranny” when the vast majority of gun nuts line up in support of the brazen autocrat."
And a bit of 2A sarcasm.
What for gotten is ATFE... Alcohol, tobacco, Firearms, and explosives...
The first items was a result of prohibition, then IRS collecting tax on
Alcohol. Tobacco was a result of the rampant black market to get
around taxes. Firearms was both gun control and taxes... Explosives
was a response to the Oak City bombing. So its not all guns. Much
controlling manufacturers and the resulting tax.
Most of those infringe mostly due to over reaction and general
craziness. They serve a purpose but don't always do it right
or to acceptable level.
Eck!
We the people are the militia.
And the "well regulated" part? You keep glossing over that.
The militia owned land, businesses, and participated in politics.
Most times a deterrent is better than action for all parties.
