And so they have been tapping directly into the servers for Google, Yahoo, MSN, Facebook, Apple, etc, etc. If you send emails through any of them, if you use Skype, if you send files though those services, you've given all of that shit to the NSA.
Freedom and privacy are illusions, now.
What are you going to do about it?
Update: The question has been asked: What do 20,000 NSA employees do each day? I imagine that there are at least that many contractors, if not more, also assisting the NSA in doing whatever the hell they do.

What are we going to do about it? Nothing. The few of us who notice it will whine, but the vast majority of the American people will shrug and say, "So?" if they even notice it. And those in power will smirk "if you've done nothing wrong you have nothing to fear, you're either for Total Information Awareness or you're for the terrorists." And the vast majority of the American sheeple will agree. So it goes.
Sadly, you are correct. We took one good punch and we surrendered many of our freedoms and liberties without a struggle.
