Since 2001 (including that year), nearly 300,000 Americans have been killed in traffic accidents.
Since 2001, 130,000 Americans have been killed in falls. 30,000 have drowned.
Since 2001, roughly 3,000 Americans have died in terrorist attacks (most on one day).[1]
But guess which one of those causes of death have resulted in a huge Federal and state bureaucracies and guess which one has resulted in unprecedented governmental infringement on liberties.
[1]However, it must be pointed out that when white dudes go on shooting sprees and try to blow up police stations, that's not terrorism per se. It is apparently only terrorism if the perps are Muslim.

(1) Depends on why the white guy did it. Tim McVeigh and Eric Rudolf were damned skippy terrorists. Some distressed daytrader off his Prozac? Not so much.
I was thinking of the guy who drove through Illinois, shooting at non-white folk or the guy in Pittsburgh who killed three cops or the one who walked into a church in Tennessee and began to shoot at people or the clown in Texas who shot up a cop shop and tried to blow it up.
The thing is, we, in pursuit of empire are on the way to emulate Rome, this Military Industrial complex is killing our country, how long can we continue to cover the world with troops, carrier groups, and pay for it by starving the home front? Bridges fall down, people have minimal jobs or crappy health care...still the teaklanbaggers insist on borrowing money from CHINA to pay for the Military Industrial Complex.. it's unsustainable...I fear for my country
