55 years old and still flying. When that DC-9 rolled off the line in Long Beach, the only 55 year old airplanes flying were flown by the likes of Cole Palen.

Quite the hot rod. The -10's and 15's didn't have leading edge slats so they whistled right along on approach.

Many a cross country on them with TWA back in the day. Good birds, and tough! And I didn't see any leading edge slats on that bird!
