A 2013 link suggested $500-$4000 as a good starting range. Found a UK supplier for basic butane fired models, mostly in the 1:32 scale, in the £1500-£2000 ($2100-$2800) range. Seems quite likely a good coal fired model would easily top $5000. Large scale and hand built, the sky’s the limit.
