As far as I know, the C-46 was the largest piston-engined airplane built and the largest twin until the DC-9.

Nice video. By largest size or lifting capacity? The Hurel-Dubois HD.34 has a larger wingspan and total length, as does the C-119. The C-119 has a higher weight. I didn’t compare usable capacity.
