The Quisling Caucus....

... is lead by the Traitor in Chief:

Only hours before the Russian invasion of Ukraine began, former President Donald J. Trump again praised the cunning of President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia while lashing out at the intellect of President Biden.

“I mean he’s taking over a country for $2 worth of sanctions,” Mr. Trump said of Mr. Putin to donors and Republican lawmakers at Mar-a-Lago, his private club, on Wednesday. “I’d say that’s pretty smart.”

He isn't the only member of the Quisling Caucus, of course. But since he's Putin's Man in Mar-a-Lago, it's to be expected.

History will remember them and not with kindness.

Yes if we can just survive the history.

I'm just wondering, if all the political players (both parties, documented) had spent just half as much effort, helping the Ukraine become a less corrupt state, helped build their military and industry rather than insure placement in lucrative (no actual expertise) jobs for their offspring, we would be seeing something different. I know... TRAITOR!

Right, Jesse, I blame this whole little invasion thing on Hunter Biden and Greta Thunberg. And Ukraine had it coming for wearing that short skirt. Sorry, Jesse, bothsiderism is as dead as Kelsey's nuts. TRAITORS they are but they are ALL Republicans.

You guys believe what you want to believe. A president is responsible for what happens on his or her watch, blaming your predecessor is a mugs game (ask GWB in regards to 911 or even RR in regards to Iran). Ukraine believed (to their error) that the United States had their back. It has happened to too many countries. I am not against Ukraine, I feel for them, Putin is a nasty fellow. But Russia is their neighbour, and expecting the USA to protect them was foolish. I am pretty sure (I have no evidence other than people I know who have worked there) that Taiwan is paying close attention, and will find some workable solution with the mainland. I also think that I know from first hand experience, the old eastern bloc countries have a great dislike for Russia, but they can clearly see the writing on the wall. Blaming trump doesn't explain the US weakness being displayed to the world. But if it makes people feel good...

I also noticed that this was probably more to this than we were seeing when, the usual suspects started accusing people of being "traitors", in regards to a country, that neither of our countries have a treaty obligation to defend. That was the point of the 'traitor'. Oh yay. I'm not a republican. Sorry.

Jesse, as far as I know, there has not been a guarantee from the United States to protect or preserve the country of Ukraine. But I have heard that Congress had approved $400 billion in military aid (equipment, not personnel) which was withheld by the Trump administration. I am sure that Trump was a Republican.

Interesting that for someone who is an expatriate and has stated in another thread that he does not intend to return, that you have a lot of opinions that you feel a need to express. And that others should heed your wisdom and warnings. I, for one, find it dubious to take your viewpoint as gospel.

At the risk of a yellow card, the idea that Bush and Reagan were responsible for 9/11 and Iran only because they had the bad luck on being in charge when it happened, as if those events were some kind of natural phenomenon wholly outside of their control, is one of the dumbest things I've ever read.

Bush received multiple warnings from the intelligence community that something was coming. He blithely ignored them. If Reagan didn't know about the Iran-Contra dealings, he was as brain dead as I think he was.

I made a long write up to answer comments above, But I don't come here to convince anyone of anything, so it got pared down to this. I drop in here to learn from people who have a different view than I. Again, my thanks to Mr. Misfit, who has to vet my posts, and could readily delete them. Regards ya all. Night.
