Russian Speed Strips

Mosin-Nagant stripper clips may be a real pain in the ass for use with the rifle, but they work well as speed-strips for .45 Colt and .44 Special cartridges.

Not my idea, but I don't recall where I read about it.

How does that work exactly?

Uh there is a thingy already made for reloading revolvers. I forgot the brand names but there is both a manual release and a 'push' release model. Both very effective.
And, neither have the sharp edges of a stripper clip to shred your fingers.

Joe, the rim base and the shell body for .44 an d.45 are close enough to 7.62 Russian (and .303 British) to work. Clips are cheap and it's a way to organize ammunition besides loose or in a box. And you can load one or two rounds; unlike speedloaders, which are more an "all or nothing" affair.
