The murder of a pregnant Marine, Lance Cpl. Maria Lauterbach, is a tragedy for her family. But take a look at the photo, which seems to accompany every article about this case.
The victim has the attributes that seem to apply to virtually all of the stories of this type: The vic is female, while, pretty and blonde.
Bet you didn't see too much coverage when this woman also went missing for a similar period of time:
Her name was Latasha Norman. She went missing in November and she was found dead two weeks later. No wall-to-wall coverage, her photo wasn't on the front page of the online news websites while she was missing.
Why do you think this is so? Be honest with yourself, it's not hard.

Not much explaining needs to be done. The top photo is a real person, the bottom person is one of "them". You know, "them". Not real people like us because, well, because they're suspiciously dusky and all that. So since they're not real people, we don't need to worry about them or anything, because if a black woman goes missing, she probably just ran off with her pimp.
Racism in America? Nuh uh, nothing to see here, no sirree...

Not to deny that the racism exists, but an important factor is that the white girl is in the military. Pulling at the heart strings to dredge up support for the military in anyway possible... it's reprehensible.
