Orange Felon Can't Tell Me What to Do

West Point and King Piggy

This plaque is at West Point:

But President Orange Piggy says that his word is law:

The last time that we had a leader who decreed that his word was law was 1775.

But the constitutional traitors known as MAGA are with him, just as the tories were behind KG-3.

They don't understand the meaning of sedition. "To incite rebellion or violence is sedition." I can use it in a sentence for those who still don't understand:

The president of the United States, who sent his followers to disrupt Congress and to overturn an election was guilty of sedition.

Merely reminding those in the military of their oath and the standards of law is NOT sedition.

Hope they get it now. (Probably not)

Yeah, but then there is this:

"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to regulations and the Uniform Code of Military Justice. So help me God."

Not saying that Trump is right either.
He is, however, the Commander In Chief, and after the Constitution, his orders are part of the oath.

The congresscritters who pushed military members to disobey legal orders have attempted sedition. That is pretty black and white.

Sorry, but you are wrong. It is both immoral and a crime to obey an illegal order.

All officers are taught that.

Aw, Dale, the J6 guys were just boisterous tourists on a tour guided by Handsy and MTG, donchaknow?

B said...

So what is the illegal part?

Please, be specific.

DTWND said...

What the six elected officials did NOT say was to disobey legal orders. They said the military can/should disobey ILLEGAL orders. Big distinction there. But in your haste to reply you may not have done your ‘usual’ research and instead just parroted the FOX/OAN/NewsMax talking heads.

The Germans whose lives ended at the end of a rope in 1946 were following orders from their supreme commander per this oath:

"I swear by God this holy oath
that I shall render unconditional obedience
to the Leader of the German Reich and people,
Adolf Hitler, supreme commander of the armed forces,
and that as a brave soldier I shall at all times be prepared
to give my life for this oath."

It didn't save their lives. An illegal order is an illegal order.

I am assuming that you've never been in the service. You'd know an illegal order if you ever got one. Things like massacre civilians, shooting bullets at protesters who are not violent (which, I remind you, Trump wanted to do in 2020).

Refusing an illegal order is a tough thing, especially if there's a gray area, and there almost always is. And you may pay heavily for it.

"I vus chust followink orders, meinen herren", in the long run, gets you a long drop and a sudden stop at the end of a stout rope.

And here we have an admission that there were, at that time, at least, no illegal orders:

DTWND, nope, that part of the arguments, the failure to think things through, I leave to your side.

But hey, I get it, inconvenient truths make you feel all squiggly and such.

Comrade Misfit said...

And yet, Your Esteemed Orange Piggy has told Whiskey Pete to court-martial Sen. Kelly and W.P. is carrying out those orders.

The rest of your point is just smoke and bullshit. PSAs get run all the time to remind people not to do things like speed in work zones and stay off drugs. I guess you are now against all of those.

What would Hair Furor know about swearing an oath to support and defend the Constitution? He doesn't remember ever taking such an oath.

Comrade Misfit said...

And now, B, Your Orange Obese Overlord is using the FBI to intimidate the other legislators-- which makes no sense unless he is planning to use US troops to kill civilians.

Is your boy dreaming of starting up death squads?
