Very much true. The MSM have normalized Trump's insanity. And as for the NYT, it's pretty much a print edition of Fox News. Their Sunday front page didn't have a blip about the eight million people who protested King Shit Donald.
Let's be clear about it. Saturday was the largest single day protest since Earth Day 1970. It was larger than any of the Vietnam War protests. It dwarfed the Teabagger protests by an order of magnitude (which got almost obsessive coverage). And most of the media shrugged it off.
We all know that Trump is a batshit-grazy loon, even if the MSM is too cowed to address it, you know, the same people who were constantly coverying every verbal misstatement by President Biden.
The bottom line is that if you want to know what is going on in American politics, you may have to look to foreign sources. For one thing, the broadcast news channels are, at best, marginally better than Fox.

I have found that I get better results from using a diverse set of sources for my news, and checking in daily. Even biased sources can yield solid information if you know their jargon and compensate for their bias. That works in both directions, but you have to remember to apply it to the ones you usually agree with or you will find yourself in an algorithmic bubble really quickly and not any better informed than the legacy media.

+1 to all of the comments above. For the record my Sunday NYT times had a mention below the fold directing you to page 22. Not much to find there. As to sources Google translate works quite well. I get a lot of good information from the Economist. The more volatile the world, the better they are. These are some other outside sources that I have found useful

The Economist is biased. When they do analysis, they give you all of the points of view so that you decide for yourself.
Always get as close to source as you can. Used to be they did good =European coverage before they were banned along with Al Jazeera.
