The Senate in a single stroke Tuesday approved about 425 military promotions after Sen. Tommy Tuberville of Alabama ended a monthlong blockade of nominations over his opposition to a Pentagon abortion policy.
Tuberville had been under pressure from members of both sides of the political aisle to end his holds as senators complained about the toll it was taking on service members and their families, and on military readiness.
...
The action came hours after Tuberville said Tuesday he’s “not going to hold the promotions of these people any longer.” He said holds would continue, however, for about 11 of the highest-ranking military officers, those who would be promoted to what he described as the four-star level or above.
The people that that dumbshit legislative terrorist was hurting had nothing to do with the policy that said dumbshit didn't like. And make no mistake, the only reason he "relented" was because the Senate was collectively going to jam it up his ass and break it off.
Dumbfuck didn't give a shit what he was doing to the military, as long as he pleased his lunatic backers in the Christian Taliban. I'd wonder if he also wasn't taking hints from the Russians, except that my suspicion is that he's too stupid for even them to touch.

Having had to work with obstinate dolts like Tommy Tuberville, I learned how hold my anger back and find other ways to short circuit their incompetence. But when the Senate allows him, for 10 months to hold military promotions hostage, the entire Senate needs to own this and hold themselves accountable.
Change the damn rules so it doesn't happen again and get the remaining promotions confirmed toot suite.
I wonder how much that cost? You understand that there was a transfer of funds.
