Those boots are sold as "shrimper boots" in the south and are actually worn by a lot of shrimpers. The trend never made it to the northeast (I fished out of RI for 22 years). Can't say if it's because we have more self respect or worse weather.

Both theories are funny (why Ron hates the transgendered), but the truth is he probably doesn't. He's just using the issue for points with the easily outraged. It's a convenient hate.
