The people who voted for him watched him shit on a gold star family, spew racist crap from the moment he announced, and all the other vile bullshit he did, and they were fucking A-OK with it. The “christians” who polished his knob for five years, holding prayer vigils, etc., none of those fucking phonies gave two shits about him banging a porn star while married.
Before the Iowa caucuses in 2016, Trump said that he could shoot someone in broad daylight and not lose any voters. The Access Hollywood tape of him saying that he would grab women by the pussy didn't hurt his campaign. The story that he walked into the contestants' dressing room for the Miss Teen USA beauty pagent and that he earlier said that he could walk into the dressing rooms for the Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants because he owned the pageants and he was "inspecting"; that didn't hurt him.
That he had schtupped a porn star soon after Wifey #3 birthed his youngest son would not have persuaded any of his supporters to sit it out. There would have been all sorts of nudging and winking about what a fat old stud he was. None of those inept poltroons running against him for the nomination would have been able to make any hay of it.
He still would have won the nomination. It woudn't have mattered. And I believe that he knew that at the time. After all, he had cheated on his first wife with the woman who became his second wife. He cheated on his second wife with the woman who became his third wife. Everybody knew that. One would have to be an utter fool to believe that he hadn't cheated on his third wife.
So why did he pay off the porn star and then try to hush up the fact of the payment? The only rationale that makes sense to me is that he did it to keep the affair secret from Melania. She was super hacked-off when the news broke about the hush-money payoff five years ago and reports are that she is still angry.
Anyhoo, my suspicion is that, for all of the bleating and braying about Trump being persecuted that is being spewed by his army of ass-kissers and hummer-givers (looking at you, Lindsey Graham), that Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is a smart and savvy lawyer and, given whom his grand jury has indicted, that this case would not have been brought if there wasn't some seriously solid basis for the charges.

THis is indeed persecution. THey don't want him to run again. THis is a poor attempt to keep him from being a candidate in '24. You know it, and I know it. You just won't admit it.
Thing is, most people will vote for a decent candidate. Trump is just the best of the (poor) choices. Not the best choice, mind you, but the best of the choices we were offered.

I've said it before, and I will say it now. Both parties need to get some decent candidates. Someone to vote FOR, rather than the kind we get. If the DNC would field a decent candidate, they'd win easily, even without voting irregularities.
While it's true that a prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich, the reality is that a young and ambitious prosecutor wants to win the case when it goes to trial, and isn't going to pursue it unless he thinks he has the evidence. Especially when going after Trump, who he *knows* is going to have defense lawyers looking for *anything* that could get Trump off.
Bragg is young and ambitious and wants to be the Attorney General of New York State. He's in this to win, and he wouldn't have have brought this case if he didn't think he had the evidence to win. Because losing this case basically ends any ambitions he ever had to be more than just a city attorney, albeit a city attorney who serves more people than most state attorney generals...

The thing is, I firmly believe that if they fail at this one they will try another and then try another. They are afraid of him and fear another try by Donnie to run again. Everyone can see what is happening, and those who can be logical and get past their hate for Trump can admit it. The attempts to silence and sideline him have so far all failed. If you can't see that it is a continued attack on him, one that is setting standards not expected of other ex presidents, then you are blind to your own hatred. Where was this charge two years ago? I can tell you: Waiting if the other attempts failed...which they have. At a certain point it simply becomes persecution. We have reached that point. It will be counterprod3euctive to continue, Only folks like you and the News Media will care. The average person won't (probably already doesn't).
