Like a bomber pilot, flying straight and level at a precise speed in the teeth of the best AAA and fighters takes nerves of steel. Of course most of these British jumpers ended up dead or POWs shortly in Monty's failed 'pencil like' (Patton's words) thrust. Brit tanks stalled and could not rescue the lightly equipped paratroopers before defence collapsed. Like the Ivans just did at Antonov airport in Ukraine with their silly MP riot police paratroopers.
