Unclean Hands; Coup Ed.

The Russians engaged in a years'-long campaign to undermine the democratic government in Montenegro, culminating in a coup attempt. Which failed.

Lost in the story about the Russians trying to destabilize other countries is the historical point that the United States has done the same thing and for many decades. To the Russians, what they tried to do in Montenegro wasn't much different from what the Germans and Americans did in Ukraine.

The other point is that the Russians are trying to destabilize both our friends' governments and ours. Our current president, of course, will do nothing for reasons that are clear to even a causal observer.*
