What a spectacular aircraft! Never got to see one live, but years ago I saw a control line model of one with a six-foot wingspan - it took two grown men to fly - one with a two-handed control handle and another hanging on to his belt. Quite a noise with six engines running - o.40 or .45's if memory serves.
Thanks for the post!
30 years ago, I worked with a guy who was a waist gunner in a B-29, then the B-36. He spoke of the crowded compartment of the '29, and how in the '36, there were four gunners, stacked positions, and plenty of room.
