That is basically the thrust of USA Today's shocking expose that, yes, if 10,000 airplanes fly into the EAA Oshkosh fly-in each year, that a few will end up crashing during their journeys.
I presume that tomorrow, USA Today will have a story that pedestrians occasionally get hit by vehicles, to be followed up by their hard-hitting story that the moon is not really eaten by demons during a lunar eclipse.
It is stuff such as that story which helps persuade most pilots that "reporter" is a synonym for "moron".

Having done Oshkosh and it's fly in it's a great experience. However your flying the plane and the first commandment is:
Above all else, fly the airplane!
Pay attention, follow the procedures and enjoy a great aviation experience.
