A new plan to convert a remote Everglades airstrip into a migrant detention center, dubbed "Alligator Alcatraz," has been celebrated by MAGA supporters, who hailed it as a victory for the hard-line immigration agenda they voted for.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem said the facility would be funded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Shelter and Services Program, which has been used to provide housing and support for undocumented migrants.
Remember this: for MAGA, cruelty is the point. These are not the "worst of the worst", these are people who have not committed a crime. Overstaying a visa or not having one is a civil, not a criminal violation. And yes, the Puppy-Killer is reveling in the cruelty.
MAGA are the same sort of people who reveled at cramming Jews into boxcars. They are just as despicable.

Gator Gulag?
When I was a kid, if you wanted to show that the Bad Guy was really bad, you had him chasing ragged prisoners with big lizards. At least one episode of Jonny Quest did it. These guys thought it was cool.
Gators are actually pretty slow on land, so the only menace is in the water.
It sure seems like their time would be better spent busting gang members, instead of farmers and vendors. The original idea was to deport criminals as I remember. They would keep busy if they went after the gangs, which I guess is why they don't. Easier busting workers than real criminals.
