Proud Boys: The Rats Began at the Top

Enrique Tarrio, the leader of the Proud Boys extremist group, has a past as an informer for federal and local law enforcement, repeatedly working undercover for investigators after he was arrested in 2012, according to a former prosecutor and a transcript of a 2014 federal court proceeding obtained by Reuters.

In the Miami hearing, a federal prosecutor, a Federal Bureau of Investigation agent and Tarrio’s own lawyer described his undercover work and said he had helped authorities prosecute more than a dozen people in various cases involving drugs, gambling and human smuggling.

Just think of the idea that one of leaders of the Proud Boys was ratting them out to the Feds. Of course, he's going to deny it. but a snitch is a snitch is a snitch.

2021 is turning out to be a fine year for MAGA-themed schadenfreude.

Speaking of that...

One of six men charged in an alleged plot to kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer pleaded guilty Wednesday to conspiracy, admitting that the group discussed an incredible scheme to snatch her at her lakeside vacation home and destroy a bridge to slow down police.

So what was it that snitches get? I can't remember. Was it cupcakes? Peach cobbler? Free gas points at the grocery store? Or was it some kind of pussy left wing health care bullshit?

I'm betting right about now "Enrique" is Bill or George or maybe even Sue, tucked away somewhere in a remote Idaho mountain cabin with a 24/7 armed "escort". We saw this sort of thing in the sixties, early seventies; and we've all been witness to this past summer's Proud Bois' instigation of violence, of reich-wing looting and burning attempting to gaslight the rubes into believing "the left" were responsible ... of starting fires and blaming it on the mythological (((antifa))) - ah-booga-booga-booga. The question that remains open in my mind was he, clearly an agent provocateur, provoking the Proud Bois to violence ... or using the Proud Bois to promote violence, gaslighting the rubes, starting fires and looting and blaming it on "the left"? Who (or whom?) was he provoking? And on whose behalf?

Ten Bears, back when the Iraq War protests were going on, there were agent provocateurs in some of the groups, who were pushing for violent action. That came to light afterwards.

So prt of this could be informants trying to stir things up to make their information look better. We saw similar shit when the FBI was arresting the jihadists of the month.

But the counter argument is that all they are doing is providing the opening for the idiots. It's not the fisherman's fault if the fish snaps at the bait.
