Through Tam, comes this blog entry about how the Violence Policy Center wants to consider "sniper rifles" as "destructive devices" under the 1934 National Firearms Act.
What is a "sniper rifle", you might ask: It seems that the VPC defines a sniper rifle as any centerfire rifle fitted with a telescopic sight.
So when the gun control motherfuckers say that they have no intention of going after "legitimate sporting firearms", they mean, for now, anything more powerful than a .22 rifle or a Red Ryer BB gun.
And don't kid yourselves, they will go after those, when the time is right.

Just a few thoughts - I went to the linked blog. The article in question is from 2001 and another article linked at the blog is from 1999. I think all of us criminal gun toters would be better informed if we read the current anti-gun crap straight from the V.P.C.: http://www.vpc.org/pressndx.htm
It's absolutely over-run with anti-lots-of-stuff.
Further, that 50's are still on the market shows the V.P.C. hasn't gotten much done since their crap came out in 2001. This is not to say that they should be ignored, but should be flamed for their more current rants.
Maybe so, but I'm kinda in favor of flaming them for everything. {g}
And I'll let someone else wade through the dreck on their website. I have enough crap to do as it is.
