The Silence of the ACLU

I've not found any statement by the ACLU about Trump's proposed transgendered gun ban.

The NRA, GOA and others are not.

Breitbart headlines it as "blatantly unconstitutional".

The ACLU, though, while standing up for constitutional rights, seems to have a massive blindspot for any constitional amendment between I and IV.

Y'all are being played.

He wants to make the Left (who are mostly anti gen) defend gun rights over mentally deranged trans people....(and, lets face it, the trans folks are mental).

It's a trap.
Just walk away and refuse to play.

While the cult is nasty, loud and vindictive it's a case of you cannot
litigate what is only stupidity and is not law. The other extreme is about
if they can do it to them are we next? That's a damn good question
to ask. We seem to be seeing a lot of both.

But if they do it... we are now in a fascist country. Everyone's rights
are subject to change.

Given the ACLU has filed briefs in opposition to a number of gun control proposals and orders, and is a constant defender of LGBTQIA+ rights, that seems a bit much. Hell, last year the ACLU was defending the NRA in court and was also asking the Supreme Court to strike down the gun ban in United States vs. Duarte.

You have it wrong. Trump is seeing if he can dismantle a constitutional right and doing it by targeting a group some people (such as you) hate. This is a trial run and you are falling right into line for him.

There's a poem about a dictator coming for groups of people and those who did nothing because it didn't affect them. You should read it, sometime.

As to you acquiring a PHD in psychiatry, you did right? If not your
just some idiot repeating something that someone else less
qualified said. That should be embarrassing.

While the Trans folks seem to be overrepresented in school shooting in the past 10 or so years, I think that their individual rights are just as important as our individual rights, therefore their rights to keep and bear are just and important and and sacrosanct as your or mine. Blaming one Trans person for the murders they commit in school shooting is not the fault of every trans person, just as one white bigoted make does not make every white male a bigot, nor every black person a criminal must because a disproportionate percentage are.

Individuals judged individually.

Do I hate trans people? No, I pity them. But hate is not part of that.

Their rights are the same as mine, or yours. And just as valuable to society.

I oppose judging a group based upon a few psychotic members that did the school shooting.

But reread what I wrote above, Don't play Trump's game. He's making the Left stand for gun rights.

And the problem with the Left standing for gun rights is what, exactly? Afraid of losing a wdge issue?

B, you’re parroting that shit again, give me your source. My source says 574 school shootings since 2000…of them, 3 trans shooters. Let’s see, you suggest that trans shooters are over represented in the past 10 years…so, with 2.8% of the population, that would be just 100 school shootings in the last 10 years with 3 trans shooters in that period to even get into a sliver overrepresented. Given school shootings are increasing (statista), that’s extremely unlikely. There were over 1,800 incidents where a gun was brandished, used, or a bullet hit school property over the past 10 years (ibid).

This makes me wonder why you lot are so worried about other people genitals. I mean, by all the statistics, it’s your ass and mine that should be prohibited from owning a gun…oh, and we should be prohibited from entering women’s restrooms, because that kind of law stops assaults, right? Because, the crime stats say otherwise on that too, so why the push against a small group that is unrepresented as the attacker in situations like this, could it be deflection? Trying to give the uneducated a target so as to keep them compliant?

Dance CP. Dance....your vehement defense says a lot, doesn't it.

IIIRC, there were 14 trans school shooters since 2023. Your sources are incorrect or you are trying to obfuscate. I also strongly doubt your claim of 2.8% trans. 2.8% LGBTQ, perhaps, but that is a very high number for Trans only.

The trans shooter issue is obvious to anyone who bothers to look. Are all Trans people dangerous? Absolutely not. Reread my comment above. Don't judge a group based upon individual actions.

And Ms Misfit: no, I think it is great that the Left might actually support gun rights. I just think that the Left being forced to choose between trans rights and being anti-gun is amusing. And I also think it is the reason Trump floated the idea.
