Charlie Kirk (Updated)

Charlie Kirk, a conservative activist and close ally of President Donald Trump, was shot and killed Wednesday at a Utah college event in an act that drew renewed attention to the threat of political violence across the United States.

Fair warning: Anyone who engages here in baseless speculation will have their comments deleted and, if you keep it up, will get hit with the Banhammer. So if you're going to assert something, back it up with facts from some reputable source.

For the future, keep an eye on Discount Goebbels and his boss, in case they seek to make this their Reichstag moment.

Also this:

The people who chortled over what happened to Paul Pelosi would like to encourage some decorum and propriety at this time.

And this.

So is the Fascist First Felon by going to occupy Utah now? A few weeks back, a little further north in SLC there was a killing at a No Kings rally. An armed counter protestor charged in and an NK "peace keeper" fired at him but hit someone else. Political violence, assuming that's what the recent shooting was, just seems to beget more political violence.

I notice the (oddly enough) you fail to mention MSNBC "Beclowning" itself (twice) in their comments....First in speculation that it was one of Kirk's supporters in the crowd that shot him and secondly that he "deserved" it for his speech.

Too early to speculate on what happened, who did it and how.

Yeah, I know, "I don't get to tell you what to post"...

I condemn violence as a political action in any form, by anyone. The thing that I fear is that since there are a large number of loony nutjobs on the right, they might start trying to somehow "avenge" what the consider an act by the entire left, instead of an action taken by one person.
There is never any excuse for taking the life of anyone just because you disagree with them. Let's hope that now that they are saying that they believe they have the right person in custody, we will get some answers on possible motive, etc.
And of course our hearts go out to the family of Charlie Kirk. This is something that no family should have to endure, no matter the circumstances.

Since Trump immediately started commenting on what an almost saintly person his buddy and supporter was I immediately thought of how Horst Wessel was put up as a martyr in Hitler's cause with the Horst Wessel Lied.
How soon does one think that the Charlie Kirk Song will be repeated at Trump's rallies?
Also, when the find the murderer they will amplify whatever part of him that they hate whether it's claiming he is a Democrat, LGBTQ, immigrant, Muslim, Jew, socialist, brown skinned, woke, etc.

Its ironic that some of his "hits" were those that encouraged harm
to others in upleasent ways. Certainly a study in contrasts and
events he advocated should happen and weighed in on. Now it has.

So the question is this by his own doing?
What goes around, comes around.

Comrade, you missed "I can't stand the word empathy, actually. I think empathy is a made-up, new-age term that does a lot of damage." That’s a Kirk quote that joins his position on deaths from guns as hugely ironic.

Turning Point USA CEO and co-founder Charlie Kirk said of gun deaths on April 5, 2023, "I think it's worth it. I think it's worth to have a cost of, unfortunately, some gun deaths every single year so that we can have the Second Amendment to protect our other God-given rights."

Fuck Charlie Kirk. My opinion of him doesn't change just because somebody shot him. I will say this though: at least whoever did it didn't accidentally kill bystanders like the moron who shot at Fergus did. Of all the stuff I've read about his murder, so far I like the Rude Pundit's take the best:

Right, Kirk did nothing to improve anyone's life other than his own.
He existed at the edge my radar as he was just another destructive
rethug sort. Not worthy of thought or comment as its useless to
argue with irrational people whose only goal is vilify people and
break things.
