It has seemed to me, that after the vast majority of school shootings, you can count on some Christian nujob whining that none of them would have happened if we allowed formal prayer in schools.
But the last couple of shootings have been at Christian religious private schools, where, one would presume, there is an abundance of formal (compulsory) prayer.
That would seem to me as pretty good evidence that prayer, as a way of preventing school shootings, is roughly as effective as summoning the League of Armed Unicorns.

...and one might think that such schools would be lit with the spirit of goodness and light.
There are people who walk as well as talk the words of Christ. But having known some of the talk, zeal and walk (at variance with what seems to me to be the crystal clear words of that rabbi) of the evangelicals, the Southern Baptists (who schism with the parent denomination over slavery), the Prosperity Gospel (a tissue of lies) and their devotion to a man who is more or less an AntiChrist...I cannot but be wary of self-proclaimed Christian schools.

Not that they can hear or listen.....
No one seems too ask and delve into the real question, why?
Who, what, when, where, how. Why? the latter, no so much.
Eck!
I had school prayer in Kindergarten before our graham cracker and milk. This was in 1964. It was:
"God is great
God is good
Let us thank him for our food"
Pretty stirring huh? I don't ever remember thinking anything but this God stuff sounds pretty fishy. So it didn't help one little bit.
