He pushed through a law to strip local governments' power to protect historic buildings and, sure as shit, greedhead developers are demolishingiconic buildings.
Florida's teachers are leaving, OB/GYNs are leaving, a degree from a Florida state school will soon be about as valuable as one from ITT Tech or Trump U.
It's also become apparent, in recent years, that any lobbying group that has the words "freedom" or "liberty" in their name is focused on restricting people's liberties and freedoms to learn things other than that which is approved by the neo-Nazi wing of the GOP.
One final thought about Meatball Ron: I don't know whether or not, in his heart, he is a racist and a homophobic bigot. But he seems to have grasped that playing one on the political stage is his route to power. It's the same calculation that was made by George Wallace sixty-five years ago.

The loss of OB/GYNs will likely, in my opinion, be the straw that breaks the camels back in a number of states (Florida, Idaho, Texas, Mississippi, etc). Younger women will abandon the states, or move to their periphery (and the R’s will proceed to push laws to criminalise crossing the state line for health care, further driving the younger women out) and start actually dropping state populations as immigrants see they aren’t welcome either.
The question is whether the effects are unanticipated or intended all along. I suspect they are a mix of both. Progressive/ liberal citizens self-deporting is intended and others unintended. Since the governor does not appear given to deep thought and consideration the unintended consequences may actually be a surprise to him, but desirable to the various people who appear to successfully lobby him for fun and profit. The full impact of these consequences will not likely be fully felt for years, by which time he will have ridden his politics to either greater power and position or gone down in flames. Hopefully the latter, but that will be scant comfort to the people left behind to pick up the pieces.
