Cool video. That low level extraction of cargo looked pretty hairy. Extreme low altitude and airspeed combined with sharp maneuvers. It looked like a strenuous evaluation. I suppose it was never produced because the C-130 and C-123 of that era proved to be just about perfect in Vietnam. And of course high cost and safety. At least I never heard of this vertical lift transport killing several crews like the marines' V-22 Ospry did during development. Thanks for posting.
Neat airplane! And it was followed by the C-8A Buffalo/DHC-5 modified by NASA at Moffett Field with FOUR top of the wing jets! T/O or Land at 40kts, at 40,000 lbs...
