Playing A Trick To Get Them A Treat

A blog by a "sucker" and a "loser" who served her country in the Navy.
If you're one of the Covidiots who believe that COVID-19 is "just the flu",
that the 2020 election was stolen, or
especially if you supported the 1/6/21 insurrection,
leave now.

Those single engine Douglas planes are huge. When I was at the "Wings of Freedom" event last September, they brought in a Douglas A1-E Skyraider. They parked it next to the P-51 Mustang, which made the Mustang look like the little Red Bull stunt plane. The Skyraider had room for three passengers.
Yea, ran into one at the Lancaster (TX) Wing of the (then) Confederate Air Force. Absolutely massive beast, and truly amazing to stand next too. Knowing the size of the Spad makes flyby scenes (such as that in Flight of the Intruder, the only redeeming part of that movie) even more impressive.
I was standing next to one when it fired up at Sun n Fun. What a sound! Took a few tries to get it cranked, but that roar... so impressive.
Witold, that's the same engine as a B-29...;-)
It was truly impressive to watch them go off the pointy end of the boat loaded down with ordnance! And yes, 3350 motors! One of my COs flew them in combat in Vietnam and said the ONLY problem he ever had was the p-tube freezing up... LOL
