At age 10 I got to see a flyover of about a hundred Corsairs, Skyraiders and Avengers. It turned the whole world into sound...if only I could hear it again.

That must have been the AEW version. Never got a ride, but I did get to crawl through one in Kinloss. Cramped, wore out, and the flight engineer didn't even sit in the cockpit! He sat behind the cockpit on the starboard side. STRANGE configuration!
