Police in Spokane, Wash., have arrested one of two teens suspected of fatally beating an 88-year-old veteran of World War II who had survived the battle for Okinawa.This was Mr. Belton:
Police contend that two 16-year-old boys approached Delbert Belton in his car at random Wednesday night outside an Eagles Lodge as he was waiting for a friend.
Belton was found by police with serious head injuries and died in the hospital Thursday.
I don't know what sort of two-legged predator viciously beats and robs a short elderly man. I don't want to call them "animals", for that is defaming animals to compare them to those two thugs.
If we're going to have a death penalty in this country, the rule should be if you're old enough to kill, then you're old enough to die for it.

There’s some animal rights types who believe that animals that attack and attempt to kill humans for no reason other than their own entertainment can be rehabilitated. Bullshit. An animal that deliberately attacks a human as prey cannot be rehabilitated. It has demonstrated that its core instincts view human beings as prey. You cannot change that nature, it simply is. The only thing that can be done with an animal that deliberately attacks and attempts to kill a human being is to put it down, or at least put it in a cage for the rest of its natural life. Because if you release it back into the general population, it *will* kill again. That is its nature. That's just reality.
The fact that the animals in this case happen to be members of the species Homo Sapiens doesn't change that reality. Just sayin'.
