No no no, you misunderstand. Nancy is saving the public money by making courtroom trials unnecessary. She is the prosecutor, jury and judge rolled up in one, and the verdict is always guilty.
Defense? People deemed criminal by Nancy don't get no stinking defense.
I'm waiting for the first mistrial to her declared on the grounds that Nancy has poisoned the entire jury pool population of the United States.
